This workshop benefits both piano conductors and singers who want to learn the skills necessary for music directing.


D Scott Ferguson currently serves on the accompanying staff of Coastal Carolina University. Broadway piano/conducting credits include:  Mary Poppins, Coram Boy, and the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. National tours include: Mary Poppins, Cats, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Goodbye Girl, Miracle on 34th Street, and Kiss of the Spider Woman.  In New York City, D. Scott served as Musical Director with educational programs for Symphony Space, Manhattan Theatre Club, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and many other regional productions.

He has taught at Parkland College and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance – Vocal Coaching and Accompanying from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he studied with John Wustman. His Bachelor of Music in Piano is from Murray State University with additional studies at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria.
